Overview

Founded in 2001, Declaration Limited is a technical marketing support agency, who operates exclusively in high tech engineering sectors, taking care of content creation, media communications and campaign managment for companies launching new products or entering new markets. Their client base is in the UK, USA and across Europe.

They approached Digital Media Edge to help them develop a more effective digital strategy, website, content, social media for lead generation and customer acquisition. The also wanted to have a more robust system at the heart of their business to allow them to scale more predictably.


The Challenge

As a marketing support agency, Declaration knew their own offering was not in line with their growth aspirations. The main challenge was to produce a more conversion focused website, to turnvisitors into leads for the business to talk to. The existing website had been developed as more of a "brochure" site, but Richard knew that it needed to be more of lead generation tool, with a blog and content that would connect and engage with their target audience.

The existing content and lack of any social media posting, resulted in little organic traffic levels. The business had relied for years on "word of mouth" recommendations, as a well-established business in the sector, but realised that there were opportunities to have a more structured lead generation and customer acquisition process to attract new enquiries but also showcase their skills to clients.

The Solution

DME started by working on a digital strategy with Declaration, specifically to identify their Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and the Buyer Personas that they needed to attract, which were specifically the owners and marketing managers of high tech engineering companies. These personas were christened as "Marketing Mel" and "Owner Owen". Now we knew who we were targeting, we profiled them firmographically, demographically and psychographically to understand who they were, what pains and challenges they had and what content they needed at each stage of their buying journey.

Once this initial strategy work and targeting had been completed, the attention turned to developing a website that would connect and engage "Mel" and "Owen", with a blog full of solution content and conversion offers for each stage of the buying journey, including videos and downloadable PDF guides.

The set up and integration of Hubspot followed, with on-boarding for the Declaration team to ensure that everyone adopted the new system and all contacts and company records were kept up to date, along with every touch point with prospective customers. Calls To Action and Landing Pages were added to the website plus the Chatbot was activated.

Finally an engaging content strategy, including blog content, video content and social media posting content and schedule was developed.

The Results

The result has been increasing website traffic month on month up to a consistent 200 visitors per month. 

An engaging blog with calls to actions in each blog post, a selection of downloadable conversion offers and videos, plus a social media posting schedule to drive more organic traffic.
